Drill music
Anyone listen to a bit of drill? Been listening to a bit of Harlem spartans lately and find it relaxing and interesting.

All they talk about is murders they’ve done and dealing class A drugs, it’s bizarre

The drill scene is like a real time live streamed episode of the wire

Apparently its ten years old and I have never heard of it. Losing my street cred'

Here, I was thinking this was your thing, bru' my boy.

(Oh and The Wire is pretty real if compressed into a smaller time period. David Simon was a journalist shadowing the Baltimore police for a while and the basic premise of The Wire and a lot of Homicide: Life on the Street came from that time. Charm City, baby.)

Re: Drill music
Not really into it BUT I did go to a drill 'gig' a couple of weeks ago.
Some locals kids set up a Instagram called 'Gtown talents' and it's getting a big following.
They've been on BBC South East, did some things around the election and have stuff coming up on ITV

It was set up by a Nigerian kid and most of the kids are foreign but they are trying to do positive things, last week was mainly about trying to stop knife crime.

My mate came up with his kid to the gig, they're white and his kid is 11 and he did a live set, the respect he got from the other was amazing.

I've helped them a bit and they use some Graffiti my agency did as a backdrop sometimes.

It’s terrible music, no wonder they all want stab each other. I listened to a couple of songs and wanted to cut my ears off.

No idea what this is, but I initially thought it was about military bands and orchestras. I thought “bruuuno’s full of surprises.”

I had the Norwegian King’s Guard in the other day, doing their annual gig. Stirring stuff.

Being a honky who’s reached middle age I can remain blissfully unaware of this genre.

The few vids I’ve seen on YouTube I was quite impressed by their video skills. Some of them were at least paying attention in their IT lessons at school.

Other than that most of it seems very stabby and negative.

Reading the comments under one of the videos they had a load of kids from Chicago and London beefing on it (ours are influenced by Chicago drill it would seem) It would appear that they saw the murder rates of their respective cities as some sort of measure of the merit of their scenes. Needless to say, Chicago won on that front.

What do you want them to make? Country blues? Psychedelic rock?

You never want to make or listen to the music your elder brother made or listened to because you’ll look like a cunt.

True. Wasn't your older brother on cutting edge of the morris dance music craze?
